Adding Sided polls to your email campaigns is a great way to boost click-through rates and collect insights from your audience. Any poll you create can easily be embedded into an email campaign as long as your email marketing software includes a "code block" feature, or allows you to edit the email html directly.
When adding polls to your email campaign, you'll first want to decide if you want to direct users to a specific page on your website, or to the poll on your Sided subdomain (yourbrand.sided.co).
To redirect users to a specific page after they vote, you’ll first need to select the page you want users redirected to when they vote on the poll from an email.
Note: A poll must be deployed to the page before you can embed the poll in an email campaign.
In the Publish Debate Settings section, search for the page you want to redirect users to after they vote.
- Click the "Copy Code" button in the Email Embed column for this page
- Open the email editor for your email campaign (Mailchimp, etc)
- Add a code block and paste the email embed code into this block
- Preview the email and send yourself a test to confirm the poll was embedded correctly
To redirect users to your sided subdomain, look for the "Copy Poll Email Embed Code" link below the poll preview on the poll detail page. Add this code to the code block in your email campaign. When users vote, they'll be redirected to the poll on your Sided subdomain.
